Ex-ABB EV charging PM Researching large-load power access in BC & Alberta Vancouver
01 / FOCUS
Led ABB's Terra AC Wallbox from MVP to global launch, along with its ChargerSync driver app and TerraConfig installer tool. Hands-on with OCPP 1.6/2.0.1, ISO 15118 Plug & Charge, Modbus metering and dynamic load management.
Since 2025, I've been researching how large flexible loads, mainly AI data centres, get power in BC and Alberta: BC Hydro's Call for Demand, AESO's interim allocation and proposed bring-your-own-generation rules, and what they mean for how much new load connects, and when.
MDes in Service Design from the University of Glasgow. My capstone redesigned the public EV charging service around drivers' real journeys, using interviews, journey mapping and service blueprinting.
02 / EXPERIENCE
A few projects across product, research, and service design.
What Meta's Alberta power deal reveals about how large loads actually get grid access. Alberta has about 19.6 GW of pending data-centre requests against a 12.8 GW record peak; BC Hydro's 400 MW call drew roughly twice that in applications. The binding constraint is access, not engineering.
Read the memoLed ABB's connected residential and commercial AC charger from MVP through CE, MID, UL and IEC certification to global launch, with a 56-person team. Designed its residential dynamic load management and site-level load balancing, and launched the ChargerSync app (rated 4.0 on the App Store). The product grew to more than 70% of ABB Shanghai's EV revenue, with clients including Amazon.
Short pieces on large-load power access, demand flexibility and grid policy in Western Canada.
03 / EXPERIMENTS
Since late 2024 I've built about 15 working tools with AI-assisted development (Replit), from requirements to deployment, including a matchmaking platform for a paying client and internal tools that are still in regular use.
E-commerce site
A storefront for handmade Miao silver filigree jewellery that pairs the shop with the craft’s story: its origins, the filigree technique, and why it is fading. I shaped the information architecture and editorial layout so the story carries the product, then built and deployed the site with AI-assisted development.
Web app prototype
A simulation-based prototype for people moving into grid and utility product roles. Users work through BC utility scenarios and receive a “skill passport” that scores grid understanding, decision-making, data analysis and systems thinking. I built it to make the hiring criteria for grid PM roles explicit and testable.
04 / A LITTLE CONTEXT
I'm a product and project manager based in Vancouver. From 2019 to 2021 I led the Terra AC Wallbox at ABB E-mobility, then completed an MDes in Service Design at the University of Glasgow. In Canada, I built two education programs from zero at Mega Global Education, and since October 2025 I've been researching how large new loads reach the grid in BC and Alberta. I'm a Canadian permanent resident and I'm preparing for the PMP.
05 / SAY HELLO
Email is the best way to reach me. I'm always happy to talk about EV charging, demand flexibility, or how BC and Alberta are handling large new loads.
